It’s Been Over A Month

Sorry about that. I have been traveling since June 2nd. First to Ladakh for 16 days. I left Ladakh on the 18th of June, and flew back to Jakarta landing at 11:00 pm. I didn’t get home until after 1:00 am, and then had to pack for my trip with my family to Hawaii. I got only an hour of sleep, and then had to get to the airport. With the time changes, the 19th of June was the longest day of my life. We actually arrived in Kauai before we left Japan…weird, right? With all that travel, I was totally exhausted, and was sick the fist three days in Kauai. Oh well. Kauai was still as beautiful as I remember it being but VERY expensive. We couldn’t afford to do any activities other than drive around, do some hiking, and hanging out at the beach. We wanted to do a three-hour horseback ride, but it would have cost us around 600 bucks, so decided that money could be spent better doing other things.

After Kauai, we spent five days in Portland visiting friends…a GREAT time, and a big thanks goes out to my buddy, Joe for being such a great host. I also hooked up with my good friend, Rick who had us over for some great home-made pizza in his new brick oven. Awesome!

We then flew across the country to my parent’s house in Virginia Beach. Both my sisters joined us there for the fourth of July. Time flew by…never easy to say good-bye.

It was then a few days in the DC area with my sister. Another big thanks to Kathleen and Steve for a great visit.

We then drove to New York City for a couple of days. I was able to hook up with one of my best friends from High School, Jerry. We hadn’t seen each other in over 35 years, so it was good to catch up.

Now back in Jakarta…but for only a couple of days…I am off to Vietnam on Monday.

First Two Photos From Ladakh

I just started editing my photos from Ladakh. I haven’t even looked at my photos from Hawaii, Portland, NYC and the rest of my trip yet. Might have to wait till after my trip to Vietnam.

Anyway…here are the first two photos I have edited from Ladakh so far…more to follow…

The top photo is of a monastery about 100km West of Leh towards Kashmir…

This photo (below) is during our trek. We literally had four seasons in one day most every day. We are headed up to a 5000 meter pass.
