A Long Time Coming
As I have written before, I have had a lot of trouble with my drone since purchasing almost a year ago. I finally have it up and running, and took it to Raja Ampat last month for a week of filming. My buddy, Max Ammer, of Papua Diving, provided me with a boat and a captain, and basically told me I could go wherever I liked to film. We sat down, and marked out a few good locations, and I spent five days trying to get to them, and do as much filming as possible. I did miss you on going to Fam, but other than that, I was able to hit all of the locations I wanted to film.
The drone was fantastic. I am amazed at the stability it has, and the video and photo quality is outstanding. I was able to film in 4k, and the uploaded video on Youtube can be viewed at 4k as well…..as long as you have a good internet connection, I would recommend viewing it in 4k.
I was also fortunate to go an entire week flying over water, trees, and mountains without crashing!! I am getting pretty good at flying the beast, and even took off and landed from a small boat on most shoots.
And Now For The Premier…
When I got back to Jakarta with all of my footage, I enlisted the help of my friend, Larry Detwiler, to help edit the footage into a short film. I paid him with Diet Coke…haha….Larry teaches a video editing class, so was perfect to enlist. He did a great job. I tweaked the final version this past weekend, adding a couple more clips, but the ground work was all done by Larry. Thanks, Larry!!
So…here it is….check it out, and try to watch it in 4k if you can….
